Frail Bodies Lay In States Unknown

like slowly waking from a lucid dream
when time floats between the scenes of your imagination
stalking your thoughts, carpeting your impressions, colouring your sight
heavy smoke filled rooms layered in velvet
chairs flooded with the tears of dreamers
bathrooms of decadence, hallways of mystery
silently the morning dissolves into time
soft as butterfly wings, entering the room in floodlit pools
the splendor of gold cascades down rippled sheets onto deep oak floors

dreams replaced by this mounting dawn
the vapors of the night dissipate like forgotten lovers
an unwelcome warmth touches the skin
skin forced cold by muddled laudanum
collapsed realms conquered by the sober touch of light
worlds un-chartered and evoked thrown asunder
while with headache-fever the journey ends
dawn breaks, wrapped in revelations.......
